Hey Kiah, just as a FYI, I wanted to let you know that I will promote you to a Panelist if Gini has any issues

01:08:41
Great, thank you!

01:12:23
I just was saying yesterday that the state needs to follow MNPS' lead on Student Based Budgeting - I didn't know that was a thing that we're outliers on. It's seemed to have worked really well and with positive results for MNPS.

01:13:57
In Memphis, we see the state is already sending us more money for public education than more affluent surburan areas. How could one defend a more equitable model that would reduce funding to suburban school districts that already has a lower level of state/local funding BUT has marked higher achievement than city public school students?

01:19:50
Also, the city of Memphis isn’t funding much of public k-12 education. Due to the 2013/14 merger/de-merger we are not receiving (much) finanical support from the city. The funding is now allocated by the county commission. Have you seen cities in other areas that don’t make contributions to public education?

TN has $3billion in the rainy day fund and made huge cuts to education and teacher raises this last year, while they made record surpluses all year long, due to internet sales tax sales and others.
